Degree planning can be challenging. With many required major courses offered only once per year, any setback can seem insurmountable to earning your degree in four years. Or, maybe you are on track, but want to add a second major or a minor. You may even be close to early graduation.

Enter Summer Fast Pass. Summer Fast Pass for majors includes hand-selected course pairings, aimed at helping you make the most impact on your major in just one summer session. In 6 weeks you can earn up to 10 units towards your major and help lay the groundwork you need to make your academic year as smooth and advantageous as possible.

When enrolling in Summer Fast Pass course pairings, you will also unlock exclusive and free co-curricular programming. Summer 2024’s programming will focus on the transition from undergraduate to career or graduate school and will feature a partnership with the UCLA Alumni Center and the UCLA Center for Scholarships and Scholar Enrichment.

Summer Fast Pass Majors

Make major progress from home on your Biology degree this summer! The Summer Fast Pass for Biology is offering two endorsed, online course pairings as selected by the department to give Biology majors a summer experience that delivers a tremendous impact on the Biology degree completion path.

Dedicate 6 weeks this summer to earn 8 units of credit that count towards the Biology lab requirement and course options that can count towards any one of the five Biology Core Principles.

Summer Fast Pass for Biology Course Pairing # 1: EE BIOL 109 (Introduction to Marine Science) + EE BIOL 109L (Introduction to Marine Science Laboratory)

  • 109 and 109L are core course for Marine Biology majors
